Mike Pence hopes that he will be able to move up in the polls once people get to know him better by moving out from under Donald Trump’s shadow.

“I’m well known, but not known well.”

In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, former Vice President and 2024 GOP Presidential hopeful, Mike Pence, discusses his campaign strategy which will focus on being known better by the voters; highlights his policy differences with rival Republican candidates, like Vivek Ramaswamy; aligns his foreign policy and economic positions with President Reagan; and attempts to balance identifying the problems that we face with the potential which we possess as a nation.

His feisty performance at the last Republican Candidate Debate helped to change his image and gave voters the opportunity to see Mike Pence as more than Trump’s VP.

“When you’re the Vice President, you’ve got to have the ability to take a half-step back. You’re there to support the President, to support the administration. You’re there not to be the story.”

Pence wants to take partial credit for the accomplishments of the Trump-Pence Administration and make people aware of his experience as Governor of Indiana and twelve years as a member of the House of Representatives.

“I think I’m the most qualified, most tested, and most proven conservative in this field.”

Following up on his sparing with Vivek Ramaswamy at the Republican Candidate Debate, Mike Pence continued to contrast his views with the GOP newcomer on the war in Ukraine, defending Taiwan from Chinese aggression, and supporting Israel.

“I’ve known Vivek for a couple of years. I have no problem with him. He’s just wrong.”

Insisting that his differences were not personal, Mike Pence attacked Ramaswamy’s reluctance to tackling the national debt and his call to increase the inheritance tax.

At a time when many Republicans are calling for a more isolationist approach in our foreign policy, Mike Pence prefers a more aggressive stance abroad like that of President Reagan.

Our growing national debt, which now exceeds our GDP for the first time since World War II, is also very concerning to Mike Pence. He believes that the debt is likely to stifle future economic growth.

In the last segment of the interview, the former Vice President tried to discuss the promise which is America while identifying the problems which we face with inflation, the border crisis, etc. Mike Pence talked about how so many people are now on their way to help people devastated by Hurricane Idalia.

“The American people are good and decent and generous and idealistic. We just need a government as good as our people.”
