Governor Christie believes that he is the kind of leader who can help Americans to believe in themselves and overcome their anxiety about the future, but Donald Trump is not.
“He might not even show up on the debate stage. I don’t think that the people of New Hampshire are going to reward someone who doesn’t have the strength to defend his record and talk about America’s future, and just talk about his own past and how disgruntled he is, and how picked on he has been.”
In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, the former Governor of New Jersey and Republican Presidential Candidate, Chris Christie discusses how to weaken President Trump’s grip on the Republican Party; criticizes Republican candidates who avoid speaking against the former President; lists Trump’s failures as President; describes his campaign in New Hampshire; and talks about how to overcome the fear that many Americans feel in these uncertain times.
Governor Christie believes that President Trump’s lead in the polls and support from rank-and-file Republicans will weaken as the campaign heats up and as the details of the indictments come to light.
“Nobody can claim that the battle plans against Iran, the nuclear secrets for ourselves and for our allies are the personal property of Donald J. Trump. They are the property of the United States and its people, and he refused to give them back.”
In national polls, President Trump has the support of 53% of Republican voters, and Chris Christie says that he has entered the race because the other GOP candidates have been too timid about attacking the frontrunner.
The Governor thinks that the other candidates are avoiding criticizing President Trump because they are waiting until he implodes and then they will make their move, or they are possibly hoping for a nice position in the next Trump Administration.
Starting with a town hall at the VFW in Derry, NH at 6:30 Wednesday night, Governor Christie plans to be spending a great deal of time in the Granite State. He is hoping that discerning First in the Nation Primary voters will be attracted to his candidacy and will critically evaluate the other candidates. A recent national poll showed that 64% of young Americans have more fear than hope about the future of America. The Governor believes that our nation can overcome these feelings of anxiety by thinking in big terms as we have during other difficult times in our history.

“Donald Trump is not strong. Donald Trump is weak. . . He might not even show up on the debate stage.
