In 2022, Nikki Haley stated that she would not run for president if Trump was running in 2024. She states why circumstances have changed and she is now running against her former boss.
“You look at the surrender in Afghanistan. You look at what’s happened with inflation. You look at the chaos of how wokeism has taken over this country. And then, I saw the midterms.”
In an interview at WGIR with Chris Ryan, former South Carolina Governor and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley discusses her reasons for running for President; puts forward her beliefs about the role of government; defends her reason for running now when she previously said that she would not run if President Trump was running again; lays out a plan for Republicans to do better in the polls; explains why many liberal commentators, like Don Lemon, attack her; reacts to President Biden’s explanation for shooting down the Chinese spy balloon and other unidentified aerial objects; responds to negative comments about her by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo; and lists the first steps that she would take as President.
Ambassador Haley believes that our country’s many problems, such as inflation, crime, and a struggling education system, requires a fresh approach and new leadership. As a woman from an immigrant background and her experience in government, she feels that she belongs to a new generation of leaders which can restore confidence in America.
As a person who believes in smaller government, Nikki Haley is concerned about out of control federal spending, the creep of socialism into our economy, and the need for term limits.
In April of 2022, Nikki Haley stated that she would not run for president if President Trump was running in 2024. She lays the many reasons why circumstances have changed and she is now running against her former boss.
“You look at the surrender in Afghanistan. You look at what’s happened with inflation. You look at the chaos of how wokeism has taken over this country. And then, I saw the midterms.”
Nikki Haley is certain that for the Republican Party to be successful in the future they will need to do a better job of getting out the vote and improving their message and reaching independent and minority voters.
After she announced her bid for the presidency, Nikki Haley was attacked by Whoopi Goldberg and Don Lemon.
“I have always made liberals’ heads explode. They can’t stand the thought of a minority, conservative female not being a Democrat.”
Ambassador Haley considers the Chinese Spy Balloon fiasco to be the last straw in our dealing with China, and she believes that we need to stop China from buying up our farmland and influencing our universities.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called Nikki Haley a quitter because she left her job as governor to be our UN ambassador and left that job. The Ambassador recalled that Pompeo left Congress to run the CIA and left that post to become Secretary of State.
In the final segment of the interview, Nikki Haley gave a quick “To Do List” if she was to win the Presidency: stop the spending binge, stop the borrowing, reform education, secure our borders, and have the backs of law enforcement.
