Senator Shaheen withholds commenting about classified documents being found in President Biden’s Delaware home,  “We’re going to see a full investigation with respect to how President Biden handled those documents, so when we hear that, then we can determine what action is needed.”

In an interview with New Hampshire Today’s Chris Ryan, Senator Jeanne Shaheen reacts to the latest report of classified documents being stored improperly in the garage of President Biden’s home in Delaware; expresses her support for New Hampshire maintaining its place as the First in the Nation Presidential Primary; highlights bipartisan legislation which was passed in the last session of Congress; and states her goal to work with Republican Senator Collins to negotiate lower insulin prices for diabetic individuals.

Senator Shaheen is taking a wait and see approach when it comes to discussing whether President Biden mishandled classified documents or questioning the timing of the disclosure these classified documents being found.

“We’re going to see a full investigation with respect to how President Biden handled those documents, so when we hear that, then we can determine what action is needed.”

In regard to the Democratic Party considering having its first presidential primary in South Carolina, Senator Shaheen is adamant in her support of New Hampshire maintaining its historic and traditional place in the election process.

The Senator points out that the New Hampshire First in the Nation Presidential Primary has traditionally had a high turnout, has vetted candidates thoroughly, and is different than other primaries because independents can participate. However, Senator Shaheen did not seem very hopeful about persuading President Biden or the decision makers at the DNC-Democratic National Committee.

“I think it’s unfortunate and shortsighted that this decision has been made the way that it has.”

With Republicans holding a thin majority in the House of Representatives and the Democrats holding a slender majority in the Upper House, Senator Shaheen points to a long list of bipartisan legislation passed in the last Congress in the hope that this trend can continue.

Senator Shaheen is hopeful that she and Republican Senator Susan Collins from Maine can continue their efforts to pass legislation which will lower costs for insulin for diabetics.
