Governor Chris Sununu on General Don Bolduc: “I don’t take him as a serious candidate. I don’t think that most people do. He’s kind of a conspiracy theory type candidate.”

In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu discusses plans to pass legislation which will help Granite Staters pay their electric and oil heating bills; puts forward the possibility of giving his endorsement in the Republican Primary for US Senate and the First Congressional District; refuses to endorse General Don Bolduc, the frontrunner in the Republican Senate race; calls for campaign finance reform; states strongly that he has no regrets about not running for US Senate in 2022; and agrees with Vice President Pence’s call for Republican candidates to offer solutions not just criticism.

On September 14, Veto Day, Governor Sununu will be working with Chuck Morse, the President of the New Hampshire Senate and Sherm Packard, the Speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, to develop a three-part bill which will help families deal with rising electric utility and higher heating oil bills.

The first provision of the legislation will give one hundred dollars to everyone to help deal with higher electric rates in October or November; the second provision of the bill would expand the assistance given to low-income families to help with their oil heating bills this winter; and the third part of the bill is designed to include aid to middle income families.

Governor Sununu feels that this is a good way to use the surplus which the state has accumulated.

“We’ve managed the economy very well. We still have the strongest economy, not just in the northeast. We have the strongest economy in the country.”

When he was asked about his endorsing any of the candidates in the Republican Primary on September 13, Governor Sununu was noncommittal, but he made it clear how he felt about General Don Bolduc, who has a big lead in recent polls.

“I don’t take him as a serious candidate. I don’t think that most people do. He’s kind of a conspiracy theory type candidate.”

The Governor went on to claim that the Democratic Party has been giving financial support to radical fringe candidates in Republican primaries throughout the country. As a result, the Democrat candidate will appear more acceptable to independent voters in the general election.

“We need massive campaign finance reform, across the board.”

The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, which is more commonly known as the McCain-Feingold Act, was passed back in 2002. It is roundly criticized by Governor Sununu for allowing dark money going to political campaigns from unknown sources.

Governor Sununu states unequivocally that he has no regrets about his decision to run for another term as governor instead of running for the US Senate.

“Look at what’s going on down there. It’s just an unending cavalcade of nonsense coming out of Washington, D.C. Why would I want to be part of that!?”

As Governor of New Hampshire, Chris Sununu would rather tackle the recession which he believes is coming and the deadly purple fentanyl crisis which is upon us.

At the “Politics and Eggs” breakfast at St. Anselm College on Wednesday, former Vice President Pence called on Republicans to offer solutions and not just blame Democrats for inflation and supply line shortages.

Governor Sununu explained how the Federal Reserve will tighten the money supply and suggests how to cut regulatory barriers to reduce costs and lessen inflation.
