Governor Hogan believes that President Biden has failed because he ran as a moderate, but he has governed as a progressive.
“He has governed as far left guy, listening to the wrong people. He is being pressured by the progressive folks in Congress and in his administration to take the country in a direction that the American people don’t want to go.”
In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, the Republican Governor of Maryland, a potential 2024 presidential candidate, Larry Hogan talks about the current economic problems in America; weighs in on why President Biden has not been able to unite the country; describes his five-point Inflation Relief Now Plan; and discusses the conditions needed for him to run for president in 2024.
Governor Hogan feels that there are many reasons why the American people are disappointed with President Biden.
“Joe Biden promised to bring the country together, but he’s done just the opposite. We’re more divided than ever.”
The Governor believes that with Americans dealing with the highest inflation rate in forty years, families are struggling to make ends meet at the gas pumps and the grocery store. It’s no wonder that people are concerned about the future of the country.
As a successful governor, Larry Hogan would apply many of the ideas and programs which he has used in Maryland in his five-point Inflation Relief Now Plan: restore America’s energy independence; stop inflation tax hikes; reduce job-killing red tape; end reckless federal spending; and suspend the federal gas tax.
By showing that he is willing to work with the opposition party, Larry Hogan has been able to turn Maryland’s economy around. Maryland has a 70% Democrat legislature, yet Governor Hogan has been able to cut taxes and change budget deficit into a surplus.

“He has governed as far left guy, listening to the wrong people. He is being pressured by the progressive folks in Congress and in his administration to take the country in a direction that the American people don’t want to go.”
In addition, the Governor believes that a growing number of Americans are switching to being Independent due to dissatisfaction with the Democrats and Republicans.
“It’s the folks in Washington from both parties. They’re not focused on reaching compromises or real solutions to the serious problems that we face. They seem to be more interested in winning arguments on Twitter.”
In the final segment of the interview, Governor Hogan talked about whether he will be a candidate for President in 2024. At this point, Larry Hogan is taking a wait and see approach. He might run if Trump is in the field, and he might run depending on how many of the rest of the Republican candidates have philosophies like his.
