Mike Pompeo, Trump’s Secretary of State and possible Presidential candidate, on high energy prices, “You’ve got to stop listening to Greta Thunberg and the Green New Deal. Open up American energy of all kinds—drilling, natural gas, crude oil, every energy source. America can become energy dominant, and we ought to do that.”
In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, Mike Pompeo, who served as Secretary of State and CIA Director for President Trump and is a possible Presidential candidate in 2024, describes the many international problems which exist today; criticizes President Biden’s lack of clarity in foreign policy; assesses reports that Vladimir Putin is ill and/or has survived an assassination attempt; lays out his all of the above energy plan for the United States; addresses school shootings and gun control; and gives advice to Republican candidates in the 2022 elections.
Secretary Pompeo believes that Americans are worried that the United States is unable or unwilling to deal with the war in Ukraine, the threat of China’s aggression, and North Korea’s arms development.
The root cause of this lack of confidence in America’s willingness to stand up to “bad guys” has been, according to Mike Pompeo, President Biden’s and current Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken’s statements which lack clarity, seriousness, and resolve.
Secretary Pompeo states that rumors and reports of Vladimir Putin’s demise shouldn’t be given much credence or necessarily hoped for because there is no reason to believe that Putin’s successor will follow different policies. Pompeo also warns the goal of expanding Russia will remain, even if a diplomatic settlement is negotiated in Ukraine.
Returning to being energy independent while also developing green energy sources would be what Mike Pompeo favors to repair our economy and to restore our posture as a world leader.
“You’ve got to stop listening to Greta Thunberg and the Green New Deal. Open up American energy of all kinds—drilling, natural gas, crude oil, every energy source. America can become energy dominant, and we ought to do that.”
By adopting an all of the above energy policy which develops renewable energy sources and with American ingenuity and adaptability, Mike Pompeo is confident that we can deal with climate change.
While discussing the recent school shooting in Texas, Mike Pompeo calls for a balanced approach which combines efforts to reduce the risk of attacks while maintaining the second amendment rights.
Secretary Pompeo advises Republican candidates in 2022 to campaign hard and to focus on the issues which matter most to the American people—affordable energy, crime, and the southern border.
