Even if the Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade, Gov. Sununu insists, “Nothing changes here in New Hampshire. . .A woman’s right to choose is protected going forward.”
In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu discusses what abortion rights will be in the Granite State if the Supreme Court does overturn Roe vs. Wade; dismisses the effect of the Trump endorsement in the Senate Primary election in Ohio and in New Hampshire; blames the Biden energy policies for our inflation woes; and describes Senator Hassan’s campaign ads to rebrand herself as an independent voice for New Hampshire as being phony.
Governor Sununu, who frequently states that he is pro-choice, insists that if the Supreme Court follows through on its probable course to overturn Roe vs. Wade, then the Granite State will still remain a pro-choice state.
“Nothing changes here in New Hampshire. . .A woman’s right to choose is protected going forward.”
If the state legislature moves to limit abortion rights, the Governor promises to use his veto.
Yesterday, J.D. Vance, who was trailing in the polls several weeks ago, won the crowded Republican Senate Primary in Ohio after getting endorsed by President Trump.
Going against the opinion of many political pundits, Governor Sununu questions whether the Trump endorsement was the deciding factor in the Ohio primary and whether it will have a significant effect in the future, especially in New Hampshire.
The Governor believes that in the final analysis, endorsements are nice to have, but candidates have to stand on their own and earn the support of the voters.
As the price for groceries continue to climb, Governor Sununu attributes the increase to higher cost of energy to produce and ship food long distances to New England.
Since he believes that President Biden’s executive orders to limit fossil fuel production is the main cause of rising prices, Governor Sununu feels that the only solution is for the voters to reverse those policies in local, state, and national elections.
Senator Hassan has been running campaign ads which portray her as running against President Biden and her party.
Governor Sununu is very critical of the ads depicting Senator Hassan as an independent voice for New Hampshire.
“It’s not real. Rebrands aren’t real. Rebrands are, It’s election time. I’d better convince people that I’m somebody that I am not.”
