Several establishment Republicans have claimed that General Bolduc is unqualified and that he should pull out of the race. In response, the General says, “The Granite Staters decide who is qualified, not a bunch of talking heads who are politically connected and have a lot of money.”

In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, retired Brigadier General Don Bolduc, who is a Republican candidate for the US Senate, discusses President Biden’s visit to New Hampshire; analyzes poll results in his race against Senator Maggie Hassan and his Republican Primary opponents; states the case for his candidacy and defies the party insiders who have called for him to pull out of the race; evaluates the Biden Administration’s handling of the crisis in Ukraine; and suggests a course of action in a post-COVID economy.

Don Bolduc has one major Republican opponent for the primary on September 13, 2022—NH Senator, Chuck Morse. The winner then squares off against the incumbent, Senator Maggie Hassan.

General Bolduc enlisted in the US Army at age eighteen and rose through the ranks to Brigadier General. After 36 years of service, including 10 tours of duty in Afghanistan, five Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts, Don Bolduc retired in 2017. General Bolduc has degrees in criminal justice, sociology, strategic studies, and business technology.

In General Bolduc’s opinion, President Biden’s visit to New Hampshire on Wednesday was a taxpayer funded campaign trip to help Maggie Hassan. Also, he feels that focusing on infrastructure when the voters are worried about high energy costs, inflation, and the border was a mistake.

Recent opinion polls show very poor results for President Biden and Senator Hassan. Don Bolduc is ahead of his Republican opponents, but he still trails Maggie Hassan by 3 to 5 percentage points.

General Bolduc is undeterred about his head-to-head polling with Maggie Hassan because it is still early, he has gained a lot of ground, she has spent $10 million in advertising, he hasn’t spent any, and he is depending on grass roots support.

Several establishment Republicans have claimed that General Bolduc is unqualified and that he should pull out of the race. In response, the General described the high level administrative and diplomatic responsibilities which he had as part of his military service in Afghanistan and Africa, and he questions the authority of the party insiders.

“The Granite Staters decide who is qualified not a bunch of talking heads who are politically connected and have a lot of money.”

General Bolduc sees several problems with the way that the Biden Administration has handled the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Weapons and supplies have not been sent in a timely fashion, and we didn’t anticipate the number of Ukrainian refugees.

Also, Biden’s trip to Europe was, in Don Bolduc’s opinion, a missed opportunity.

“He did not inspire anybody, he did not build confidence, and he did not show strength.”

Additionally, the General believes that Biden calling Vladimir Putin a war criminal but not imposing stricter sanctions or going to the UN to designate him as a war criminal sends a confused message.

In the final segment of the interview, General Bolduc discussed what needs to be done as America adjusts to a post-COVID economy. The General favors reversing the Biden energy policy and a return to American energy independence. The General also calls for controlling the southern border.
