US Senate candidate, Chuck Morse talks about whether he would vote for Mitch McConnell, “I’m going to do what’s right for New Hampshire. If change is right for New Hampshire, that means Morse will be in a position to make a difference, and I’ll be with that leader.”
In an interview at WGIR with Chris Ryan and UNH Professor Dante Scala, the President of the New Hampshire State Senate and candidate for US Senate, Chuck Morse, discusses the Republican Primary Race to challenge Senator Maggie Hassan; addresses the connection between our open southern border and the fentanyl epidemic; believes that the invasion of Ukraine occurred because of the perception by our enemies that America is weak; reflects on the concerns of the people that he has met on the campaign trail; and answers whether he would vote for Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority Leader, if Morse is elected and if the Republicans take control of the Senate.
After a successful quarter of fundraising, Chuck Morse has amassed $700,000 for his campaign, which is more than his Republican opponents but significantly less than the $12 million in Maggie Hassan’s war chest.
Morse is undeterred by the disparity in fundraising with Maggie Hassan and is content to run his race against the other Republican challengers.
“From the beginning, I’ve said that this is about my background, my record, and experience; and I think that I can beat Maggie Hassan.”
When Dante Scala asked Chuck Morse if he planned to visit the southern border like Senator Hassan and his Republican opponent, Kevin Smith, have done recently, Morse stated that traveling to the border doesn’t change the fact that Maggie Hassan has been weak on enforcement of the border and of our immigration laws.
Chuck Morse is convinced that Russia believed that it could invade Ukraine because under Joe Biden’s leadership America was unwilling to control its southern border or to be energy independent.
As he runs for a federal office for the first time, Chuck Morse has been struck by the belief that many voters have that America has been headed in the wrong direction and they want to see it put back on track.
Chuck Morse, who has been the architect of New Hampshire’s budget, believes that the voters are concerned about runaway inflation and out of control federal spending.
In the final segment of the interview, Chuck Morse discussed how he would vote if he was elected and if the Republicans took control of the Senate. In the past, Morse has been critical of Maggie Hassan’s lack of independence. When he was asked whether he would vote for Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Morse answered this way.
“I’m going to do what’s right for New Hampshire. If change is right for New Hampshire, that means Morse will be in a position to make a difference, and I’ll be with that leader.”
