In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, former Vice President Pence talks about his recent trip to Poland and Ukraine and calls for increased military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine; describes his “Freedom Agenda” which is a 28-page platform containing the conservative themes and policies put forward by the former Vice President; asserts how America should deal with Russia now and in the future; and predicts a recession in our future unless we return to developing domestic energy sources.
Vice President Pence describes the painful scenes in refugee camps on the Poland-Ukraine border. As he listened to the stories of the mostly women and children who were forced to leave their homeland, Pence became convinced that the United States needs to tighten the sanctions on Russia and provide Ukraine with more military and humanitarian aid.
Although he has not announced that he is running for president in 2024, Mike Pence revealed his Freedom Agenda yesterday. The 28-page document reads like a party platform which outlines the themes and policies which would govern a candidate’s campaign.
The Freedom Agenda, which is product of dozens of conservative thinkers, is intended to lay out a plan and to be a response to the left wing of the Democratic Party. Pence explains the importance of the first topic in the Agenda being culture and the sanctity of life.
When the Supreme Court convenes to decide the Dobbs Case, Mike Pence is hopeful that Roe vs. Wade will be overturned, and abortion will be decided by the states.
Vice President Pence believes that Russia is determined to reacquire its lost territories, and he points out that it was during the Bush, Obama, and Biden presidencies that Putin was emboldened to redraw the boundary lines in Europe.
“There is no president in my lifetime who was tougher on Russia than President Donald Trump.”
That’s why Pence calls for a policy of peace through strength where the United States projects a willingness to use force to protect our interests and our allies. On the contrary, he is very critical of President Biden’s mishandling of the war in Ukraine.
In the final segment of the interview, Vice President Pence criticizes the Biden Administration’s proposed budget which increases taxes and cuts defense spending. Pence also claims that the Biden clean energy policies are the cause of higher prices at the pump and inflation. He believes that the recession which is looming can only be averted by returning to the Trump era energy policies.
