On NH Today, Baxter Discusses America's Dependence on Russian Oil

Tim Baxter sees Biden’s ‘America Last Energy Policy’ as a cause of inflation and Putin’s reason to attack Ukraine.

“Because he sees the West as weak when it comes to energy, this is why he felt that he could strike now. That’s what we need to learn from this crisis and fix our broken energy policies, so this never happens again.”

In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, a Republican candidate for Congress in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District, Tim Baxter attributes Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to the “America Last Energy Policy” of President Biden; gives his ideas on how to transition from fossil fuels to clean or cleaner energy sources; states what he thinks was missing in President Biden’s State of the Union Speech; suggests that Republicans need to offer to the voters substantive, proven plans to deal with inflation, education, and immigration; and puts forth the reasons why Republican voters in the First Congressional District should vote for him in the Primary Election next September.

Tim Baxter is currently a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Rockingham 20. He is a relative newcomer to politics who assumed office on December 2, 2020. Baxter, who is twenty-three years old, owns a real estate business and runs a non-profit called Second Chances which helps people with substance abuse problems get into treatment.

When he was asked to discuss American involvement in Ukraine, Tim Baxter, after listing other possible geo-political motives, expressed his belief that our current energy policy was a factor in Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Because he sees the West as weak when it comes to energy, this is why he felt that he could strike now. That’s what we need to learn from this crisis and fix our broken energy policies, so this never happens again.”

The energy plan that Tim Baxter would support would incorporate nuclear power and natural gas. He believes that an unleashing of the free market American economy would develop affordable green energy sources. In the meantime, we need affordable energy sources.

In his opinion, Tim Baxter thinks that the State of the Union Speech was missing details on how the President would deal with the three biggest problems which are of concern to voters, especially independents: inflation, education, and immigration.

Tim Baxter questions the effectiveness of the one remedy for inflation which President Biden proposed—more spending on social programs. Baxter calls on his fellow Republicans to offer the voters substantive plans which have and will work to deal with inflation, education, and immigration.

In the last portion of the interview, Tim Baxter explains why, in a field of seven Republican candidates, he is best choice to run against the incumbent, Chris Pappas. Taking aim at his most serious opponent, Matt Mowers, in the Republican Primary in September, Tim Baxter emphasizes his own New Hampshire roots and track record. Mowers lost to Pappas in 2020 after being described as a carpetbagger from New Jersey.
