ON NH Today, Sununu Urges Biden to Implement Severe Sanctions on Putin

Governor Sununu talks about the invasion of Ukraine, “It looks like NATO and our allies around the world have coalesced around pushing back on this aggression. You have to not just talk about sanctions. You have to implement them, and you have to make sure that they are sanctions that are going to work.”

In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu shares his thoughts about the Russian invasion of Ukraine; discusses the economic implications of a war in eastern Europe; talks about the importance of the world coalescing in its enforcing of sanctions on Russia; and explains his call for the lifting of indoor mask mandates.

Governor Sununu expresses his sympathy for the Ukrainians who are currently under attack and their relatives in the Granite State who are worried about them.

In addition, the Governor discusses the economic implications of the war in Ukraine which will probably cause higher prices for energy and other goods and may have an adverse effect on stock prices and people’s 401ks.

Governor Sununu also talks about the possibility of a Russian cyberattack. He points out that even the little New Hampshire system is pinged with one million cyberattacks per day, and the Governor warns everyone to be on their guard.

To force Vladimir Putin to withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine, Governor Sununu believes that a united front by the world community will be needed to enforce effective sanctions.

The Governor explains that the dropping of the mask mandate came from a recommendation from the Department of Health that masks were no longer necessary due to a drop in COVID cases and hospitalizations. Schools will no longer be requiring students to wear masks.
