On The Press Pass, Cassidy Thinks Bruins Hitting Stride Ahead of Playoffs

In talking with Chris Ryan, the Bruins Head Coach, Bruce “Butchie” Cassidy discusses the development of the Krejci, Hall, andSmith line; Rask’s solid goalie play since returning from his injury; and positioning within the division for the playoffs. Center David Krejci examines how his line has developed a good chemistry. Charlie Coyle talks about ending his scoreless streak.

Coach Cassidy is very happy with the line of David Krejci, Taylor Hall, and Craig Smith. They have worked well on offense, they have not surrendered a goal on defense, and they have played well on the power play.

The Coach also commented on the steady play by Tuukka Rask, the Bruins goaltender. Since returning from a back injury, Rask has strung together some solid games.

Counting today’s game with the Buffalo Sabres, there are only seven games remaining in the regular season schedule. Butchie Cassidy isn’t too concerned about how the other teams are playing because he is more focused on how the Bruins are playing. However, Cassidy feels that the top four teams in the Eastern Division of the NHL are all very strong. If one of the four top teams gets on a win streak before the end of the season, they might be considered the favorite.

David Krejci analyzes his play in the Thursday night 5-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. The Bruins center scored a goal and picked up an assist when delivered a slick pass to his left wing, Taylor Hall. Krejci believes that the improved play of himself and his linesman, Taylor Hall, and Craig Smith, is the result of their aggressive play in the forecheck.

Bruins Center, Charlie Coyle had gone through a 28-game stretch without scoring a goal, the longest drought of his career. Coyle discusses his happiness in finally scoring a goal, especially when it turned out to be a game winner. As the season is winding down, Charlie Coyle describes how the team is playing with more intensity as they focus on the playoffs.
