On New Hampshire Today, John Kasich Says GOP Has Lost It's Way

Ohio Governor And GOP Presidential Candidate John Kasich Holds Primary Night Gathering In Concord, New Hampshire

In an interview with Chris Ryan, John Kasich, the former Republican governor of Ohio and 2016 presidential candidate, gives his analysis of the first 100 days of Joe Biden’s presidency; evaluates the current federal budget process; suggests the approach which Republicans should employ;

John Kasich, who came in second to Donald Trump in the 2016 New Hampshire Presidential Primary, and Kasich endorsed Joe Biden in 2020, gives Biden credit for changing the tone of the rhetoric coming from the White House.

“I’m glad that Donald Trump is gone. I think that he was an incredibly divisive person and created more division in our country. And I think we needed to stop it.”

Governor Kasich compliments President Biden’s efforts to control the COVID pandemic and his work in reconnecting with our allies. However, the Governor is very concerned about the amount of spending and the leaning toward the creation of big government by the Biden Administration.

When he was asked to assess any efforts made by the Biden team to develop a bipartisan approach to solving America’s problems, John Kasich said, “I haven’t seen any bipartisanship. I’ve seen a lot of talk and rhetoric, but I haven’t seen much negotiating between Republicans and Democrats. Words matter, but actions matter more.”

John Kasich served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983 to 2001, including 6 years as Chairman of the House Budget Committee, and as the Governor of Ohio from 2011 to 2019. Kasich brings his experience in the Congress and as a Governor to break down how to bring some fiscal sensibility to the proposed spending of trillions of dollars by the Biden Administration.

“We need to reinvent the government that we have. We need to design a government that fits a twenty-first century model that’s fast, less bureaucratic, and not duplicative. If you want these plans, which have some good elements in them, then you have to make space for them.”

Governor Kasich believes that it is possible to get the National Debt, which stands at $28 trillion, under control; but he doesn’t believe that we can solve the problem by just printing more money.

In his opinion, John Kasich believes that the Republican Party should be laying out a framework to get the budget and government spending under control and dealing with healthcare rather than focusing on obscure cultural issues, like Dr. Seuss books being cancelled.

If the Republicans are going to win, they need to answer this essential question for the voters, “What is it that you are going to do to improve the lives of every American?”

In the last segment of the interview, John Kasich was asked about his making another run for the Presidency in 2024. The Governor said that for now he is focused on the present, but he didn’t rule out the possibility of making another run.
