Caitlin Tracey, a 36-year-old tech executive from Chicago, was found dead in a stairwell of her luxury high-rise condo on October 27, 2024. The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled that she died from "multiple injuries" due to a "fall from height," but the manner of her death remains undetermined. Tracey's body was described as "pulverized" with a severed foot, indicating she fell approximately 24 floors.

Tracey's husband, Adam Beckerink, a well-known Chicago tax attorney, was questioned by police but released without charges. He had filed a missing persons report for Tracey before her body was discovered. Beckerink has a history of domestic violence allegations, including charges in Michigan for battering Tracey in January and August 2024.

Tracey's family has been vocal about their suspicions regarding Beckerink, accusing him of manipulating and isolating her. They were involved in a legal battle over her remains, eventually winning custody for a funeral in Michigan. Despite the medical examiner's findings, no charges have been filed in connection with her death, and the case remains open.

Beckerink's attorney maintains his innocence, stating, "He had nothing to do with his wife's death."

The investigation continues, with Tracey's family urging authorities to keep the case active.
