16-year-old from Las Vegas is facing murder charges after he allegedly left school and killed a man in his home. Authorities said that on August 27, Ethan Goin broke into the house of 48-year-old Vergel Guintu.

Guintu was in the kitchen while his wife and mother-in-law were upstairs. When they heard a noise, they rushed downstairs and found Guintu in a puddle of his own blood. His mother-in-law told the police that the suspect walked past her dressed in all black with a mask over his face a hood covering his head.

Authorities began to canvas the area, trying to locate the suspect. The next day, they received a tip from a neighbor that a man dressed in all black was getting into a rideshare near Guintu's home. Officers tracked down the rideshare and asked the person inside, later identified as Goin, to exit the vehicle.

He complied but then fled when officers asked about the bloodstains on his boots. He was apprehended a short while later and taken into custody.

He told investigators that he left school after being bullied and remembered jumping over a wall near the victim's home. The teen told officers that he realized he did something terrible when he got home and saw blood on his Karambit knife. But, instead of calling the police, Goin returned to school and walked right past the active crime scene.

He told police that everything was a blur, and he did not remember stabbing Guintu. He admitted that he was on his way to a friend's house to dispose of the knife when he was taken into custody.

Goin was charged with open murder and remains locked up at Clark County Juvenile Detention Center after his bail request was denied.
