Jack White is here to save the day — or at least Saturday Night Live tomorrow.
White stepped in as a last-minute musical guest replacement after country singer Morgan Wallen lost the coveted spot after he failed to abide by the show's COVID-19 protocols and was seen partying without a mask and kissing strangers.
White will be making his third solo appearance on the show and fourth overall on Saturday (October 10), with host Bill Burr. He was last on the show two years ago as the musical guest.
His performance comes at a great time seeing as Third Man Records just announced The White Stripes Greatest Hits collection — which will be released in early December.
Fans, who probably weren't going to tune into the show, are now stoked that the “Connected By Love” singer will be on. “Dear @nbcsnl Next time just call Jack White first. You're welcome,” one fan tweeted.
In an interview with Today, SNL creator Lorne Michaels commented on White's appearance after the show had to remove Wallen for breaching COVID-19 protocols.
“Jack White is coming in, and there could be some… other stuff,” Michaels said. “Calling someone on a Thursday to be here for a Friday is, uh, complicated. It has to be people who are ready to go… and [White is] always good on the show.”
After a video surfaced of the country singer's partying, Wallen took to social media to post an apology which you can watch here.
