When you buy clothes online, you never know what you're going to get - it might not look how you expect, you might not like the way you look in it, or it might not fit properly. Often times, customers contact online retailers about these issues, but the note Pear Swimwear got from a customer named Lyndsey is the stuff of legends. Thankfully, Lyndsey's friend Emma tweeted out the entire epic exchange for the legend to live on.
It starts with Lyndsey's note to the company, explaining how something happened with the bathing suit she bought. At first, it fit fine, but after a few hours it seemed to stretch and cause a very private part of hers to become public. Embarrassed by her situation and confused about how the fit changed so quickly, she asked Pear if the suit is "meant to stretch like that," including a photo of herself in it.
Pear Swimwear responded, apologizing for Lyndsey's discomfort and gently letting her know that the problem is that she is wearing the swim suit upside-down. To help her even more, they included a photo of how the suit is supposed to look, stating "the thinnest part of the swimsuit will be the strap which sits across your shoulder."
Lyndsey followed up Emma's tweet by explaining exactly what happened. She wrote, "I went to Ocean Beach wearing the swimsuit in perfect condition and the CORRECT way - had too much fun with alcohol, went to the toilet a few hours later and put my swimsuit on upside down WITHOUT KNOWING. I then got kicked out after this for being a lightweight NOT a tramp xxx."
She also wrote, "Howling I was wanting a refund on that swimsuit thinking it was faulty."
At least she can laugh about it!
