STOP THE PRESSES! ‘Time’ magazine’s top 100 list will make your head explode.

Stop whatever you’re doing and pull up a chair. Because Time magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people on the planet is finally here.

Which lucky hundred humans has Time anointed as head and shoulders above the rest? Well, Time has their 100 list divided into categories, such as “Pioneers.” Naturally, that’s where David Hogg and the rest of the Parkland Five landed. Their tribute essay was written by Dana Loesch… just kidding. It was actually written by Barack Obama. Of COURSE it was.

RELATED: Shouldn’t TIME’s person of the year be a person?

Under the “Artists” category is Jimmy Kimmel, with his tribute written by Senator Dick Durbin.

That’s not a joke. Durbin writes about Kimmel, “Night after night he sparred with the politicians who tried to take health insurance from millions of Americans.” You know those darn Republicans, always hoping to see Americans die in the streets from no health insurance.

Among those in the “Leaders” category we have Justin Trudeau (naturally), Kim Jong Un (why not) and Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi’s tribute is written by Cecile Richards. If you were making a list of the top influencers in killing unborn Americans, Pelosi and Richards would probably make the top ten.

Under “Icons,” there’s Adam Rippon, because nothing says icon like finishing tenth in your event at the Winter Olympics. Also under “Icons” is Maxine Waters, because… actually, I have no idea how anyone thought that was a good idea.

“Sorry, Time, but these are not the most influential people on the planet.”

Sorry, Time, but these are not the most influential people on the planet. They may be the loudest, the most famous, the most popular. I’m sure there are some truly great people on this list, and some even have the power to affect our lives through technology or government policy.

But they can never have the kind of deep, genuine, lasting influence that you have on your family, your children, your friends, your community. How did Time overlook the people risking their lives to save others around the world? That’s why a list like this is rather laughable. The real influencers are more often the ones we don’t hear about — hard-working people like you, trying their best, serving their neighbors and doing secretly amazing things for the people in their life.

If this is truly a list of the 100 most influential people, then we are far too easily influenced.
