White House Aide Says Progress Being Made On Government Funding

A top White House aide says President Trump is engaged in getting the government operating again.

White House Legislative Affairs Director Marc Short tells NBC's "Meet the Press" there is significant progress being made and they'll actually get a deal on immigration.

Short says the White House is open to expanding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA.

Short says the White House wants to solve the problem of immigrants coming to the U.S.

Appearing on ABC's "This Week," Short says the White House wants to "find a deal to make sure that, again, our troops and our Border Patrol agents are not denied payment, but the Democrats seem unwilling to even accept that offer."
