On NH Today, Haley Makes Her Pitch to NH's Independent Voters

Nikki Haley makes it clear that despite agreeing with many of his policies, she has no intention of running as Vice President with her former boss, Donald J. Trump.

“Everywhere he goes, chaos follows Trump. At a time when our economy is in shambles and we’ve got wars all over the world, we can’t have chaos. . . We had better get focused and leave all the baggage and negativity behind. I’m working for number one and I’m going to finish number one.”

On the campaign trail at Oscar Barn in Hooksett, NH, "New Hampshire Today’s" Chris Ryan caught up with former South Carolina Governor, former UN Ambassador, and 2024 Presidential Candidate, Nikki Haley.

In the interview, the Ambassador assesses her chances of winning the New Hampshire Primary and the Presidency; discusses how Governor Chris Sununu could be a running mate and how she would put together a cabinet; refutes the suggestions that she would consider running as Vice President with Donald Trump; explains how she will minimize the Democrat efforts to push the abortion issue and will focus the effects of inflation on the economy as a major 2024 election issue; lays out a strategy to ease the political divide which permeates the current political environment; clarifies her position on social media platforms like Tick Tock and the threats posed by foreign influences in politics and on our college campuses; and Ambassador Haley lays out her game plan for the next two months, as she prepares for the First in the Nation Primary on January 23, 2023.

Buoyed by rising poll numbers, Nikki Haley plans on campaigning hard in the Granite State, and she is very optimistic about her chances of winning the New Hampshire Primary on January 23, 2023.

Ambassador Haley admits that she has been so busy running for President that she has given little thought to choosing a Vice President or forming a cabinet. However, the Ambassador feels that Governor Chris Sununu would make an excellent running mate.

“He’s been a fantastic governor. He’s a great communicator, we’re friends. He understands what real people feel.”

When looking for people to fill cabinet and agency posts, Nikki Haley would draw on her experience as Governor of South Carolina by choosing administrators who have competence, creativity, a desire to serve the people, and the ability to tell her when she is doing something wrong.

By emphasizing that the recent Supreme Court ruling which has made abortion rights not a federal issue but a state-by-state decision, Ambassador Haley feels that she can focus on the economy because higher energy costs and interest rates are having a very negative effect on American families.

Whoever is elected President in 2024 will become the leader of a very divided country, Ambassador Haley believes that she can bring people together by being honest and transparent and clearly communicating what options are available and what are the likely outcomes.

“The tone at the top matters. My goal is to find a way to bring out the best in people and get them to see the way forward.”

After being criticized in some quarters for calling for censorship of social media, especially Tick Tock, Ambassador Haley tries to set the record straight.

“For clarity, this is about foreign influence. This is not about Americans. This is not about American free speech.”

Ambassador Haley wants to keep foreign influence, especially Chinese, Russian, and Arab money out of our social media platforms, universities, and Congress. She attributes the pro-Hamas protests and anti-American rhetoric on our colleges to foreign influences.

Her first move would be to ban Tick Tock. She would also require social media platforms to make public their algorithms to better understand the workings Twitter, X, Facebook, etc. A third step would be to force social media outlets to eliminate bots and guaranteeing that anyone who posts is a real person.

“What we don’t want are these foreign entities by the hundreds and thousands spreading all of this anti-American hate that our kids are picking up now.”

In the final segment of the interview, Ambassador Haley promises to be campaigning hard in the Granite State in the coming months. She enjoys interacting with the voters here and is looking forward to the First in the Nation Primary on January 23, 2023.
