Vice President Pence commented on Liz Cheney’s defeat in her primary election and her opposition to President Trump.
“I wish her well. I never begrudge anyone from doing what they think is right.”
In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, former Vice President Pence talks about the speech which he will give today at the “Politics and Eggs” breakfast at St. Anselm College at the invitation of the New Hampshire Institute for Politics; comments on Liz Cheyney’s primary defeat and her participation in the House January 6th Committee; discusses his upcoming book “So Help Me God”; calls on Attorney General Garland to clarify his reasons for the search of President Trump’s residence in Mar-A-Lago and on Republicans to stop calls for defunding the FBI; and states the topics which should be the focal points for Republican candidates in the 2022 election.
Despite his differences with Donald Trump, Mike Pence was deeply troubled by the search of a former president’s home. Furthermore, Vice President Pence has called on Attorney General Garland to clarify to the American people that politics didn’t play a role in the search of Mar-A-Lago.
“We can hold Attorney General Merrick Garland accountable without attacking law enforcement. The Republican Party supports the thin blue line. These broad-based attacks on the FBI must stop.”
At the “Politics and Eggs” breakfast, former Vice President Pence called on Republicans to do more than oppose inflation producing bills like the “Inflation Reduction Act”. He believes that his party must suggest conservative alternatives.
Vice President Pence will put forward many of the ideas from his Freedom Agenda which is a 28-page document—like a party platform which outlines the conservative themes and policies which he would follow.
Last night, Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney was soundly defeated in the Republican Congressional Primary by a challenger backed by former President Trump. In her concession speech, Cheyney vowed to continue her work in the House January 6th Committee and suggested that she was considering a run for president in 2024.

Despite his pivotal role in the events of January 6, 2021, Mike Pence believes that the current foreign and domestic problems of the United States demand our full attention.
In addition, the former Vice President suggests that the January 6th Committee has a partisan agenda.
“When Nancy Pelosi denied certain Republicans seats on the committee, to me, that suggested that there was a different agenda working there. It would seem to be more about politics than about the public’s right to know.”
Vice President Pence discusses his book “So Help Me God” which will be out in November. It’s a biography which covers his background, but it emphasizes his time as part of the Trump-Pence Administration, the 25020 Campaign, and the events of January 6.
For Republican candidates to be successful the elections this fall, Vice President Pence believes that they need to hold Democrats and President Biden responsible for the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan; a weak foreign policy, especially with China; the border crisis, record inflation; a rising crime rate; and high gas prices.
