In an interview with Chris Ryan, the Representative from the First Congressional District, Chris Pappas gives high marks for the first six months of Joe Biden’s presidency; discusses the proposed $3.5 trillion infrastructure package which is being discussed in the Senate; evaluates how the $550 billion bi-partisan infrastructure bill which just passed in the Senate might benefit New Hampshire; and talks about the goals of the House January 6th Committee.
Congressman Pappas feels that the Biden Administration has done well in a number of ways—efficiently delivering COVID vaccinations throughout the country and an increased level of engagement with the legislative process.

Presently, a $3.5 trillion human infrastructure bill is being discussed in the Senate. The particulars of the bill have not been disclosed.
Congressman Pappas is in favor of several aspects of the bill which will provide funding for the following: access to affordable healthcare; universal pre-K; and continuation of the child tax credit.
The $550 billion conventional infrastructure bill which recently passed in the Senate, with bi-partisan support, also does not have information about specific programs.
The Congressman is hopeful that it will provide funding in New Hampshire for bringing broadband internet service to rural areas, repair roads and bridges, and improve our water systems.
Congressman Pappas feels that the goals of the House January 6th Committee should be about “truth and accountability”. The Congressman felt that the testimony of the four Capitol police officers to the committee was “compelling and gut wrenching”.
Congressman Pappas feels that the perpetrators of the events of January 6th should be held accountable and steps need to be taken to ensure that something like this never happens again.
